This app cannot guarantee mushroom identification. Eating a misidentified mushroom can cause severe illness or death. Never consume any wild mushroom based on this app alone. Always verify with multiple expert sources.
01 Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using the MorelHunter application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App. These terms apply to all users of the App.
02 Nature of the service — not professional advice
MorelHunter uses a trained detection model to assist with mushroom identification. The App is provided for informational and recreational purposes only. The model's identification results are not a substitute for:
- Formal mycological training.
- In-person expert consultation.
- Physical verification of specimens (cap structure, hollow interior, spore prints, etc.).
- Professional medical or toxicology advice.
03 Assumption of risk
Foraging for wild mushrooms is inherently dangerous. You expressly assume all risks associated with foraging, identification, handling, preparation, and consumption of any mushroom located using this App. False morels (Gyromitra species) and other toxic lookalikes exist and can cause severe illness or death.
04 No warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. We do not warrant that detection results are accurate, complete, reliable, or safe as a basis for consumption decisions.
05 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MorelHunter and its developers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including illness, injury, loss of life, loss of property, or loss of profits — arising from your use of the App, your reliance on its output, or any identification or foraging decision you make.
06 User responsibilities
- You are solely responsible for verifying any mushroom identification before consumption.
- You are responsible for foraging only in locations where you have legal permission to do so.
- You are responsible for complying with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding mushroom collection.
- You are responsible for the safety of anyone to whom you provide foraged mushrooms.
07 Intellectual property
The App, including its detection model, UI, artwork, and branding, is the property of its developers and is protected by copyright and related laws. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute any part of the App without written permission.
08 Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what we collect, what we don't, and your control over opt-in data submission.
09 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, a notice inside the App. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
10 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App's developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
